August 6 - Hygiene Beyond Hand Washing
Hygiene Beyond Hand Washing stresses the importance of teaching hygiene regimens throughout early childhood to help prevent common conditions children may experience during puberty.
While the need for even basic hygiene routines, such as hand washing, is important as young children, it’s amplified as they reach their teenage years. Hygiene Beyond Hand Washing explains how teaching children these routines early can help stave off many common problems teenagers experience as their bodies change.
Children typically begin to notice a change in their bodies between the ages of eight and twelve, when changes in glands can begin to produce excess oil production, in turn leading to acne and body odor. Simple tips, such as washing your face regularly and switching to fabrics such as cotton that allow the body to cool itself down can prevent the embarrassment teenagers often face as they learn how to deal with the changes.

Five Secrets of Centenarians provides insider tips of how to make the most of the many years ahead by making healthier decisions early on. Tips include eating a balanced diet, practicing home safety, maintaining a relationship with your physician, and more.

Eating disorders have reached epidemic levels in the U.S. and abroad. What’s scarier? It affects our children: research shows that 42% of first- to third-grade girls wish they were thinner, and 81% of 10-year-olds have a fear of being fat. In fact, eating disorders in children typically begin between ages 11 and 13. Dying to be Thin will inform you on how you can prevent eating disorders in yourself and the ones you love.
December 3 - Cents and Sensibility
We know the power of stress and where it often originates: work, family, and money—especially around the holidays. We are jumping one step ahead of the stress beast with Cents and Sensibility, a fresh take on old problems: financial planning and weight gain.
Cents and Sensibility offers tips on how to keep your wallet and waist size in check during times like holidays when it’s easiest to lose control of both.
The American Psychological Association, reports that 73 percent of Americans name money as their number one reason for stress. Cents and Sensibility shows how easy tips, such as setting a budget and planning ahead, can help reduce your stress when the time that gift giving comes around. The program also teaches how healthy twists on holiday food favorites, along with sticking to an exercise routine, can allow you to enjoy that second helping without paying for it on your waistline.
