Oncology Services

As soon as you learn that you or a family member has cancer, the journey begins. The care and support you receive during your journey are important. They will help you cope with the challenges along the way.

Medical Center of Lewisville detects and treats all kinds of cancer. Our physicians and nurses are specialists in their fields. All of our physicians, surgeons, and other medical professionals are highly trained in the management and recognition of problems unique to cancer patients. Our staff is also specially trained to provide a calming and secure environment. In addition, our nurse to patient ratio allows us to provide close individualized care.

Our nurses are professionals who have completed cancer education and training. The oncology nursing team includes an Advanced Practice Nurse in Oncology, Oncology Certified Nurses (OCN), and registered nurses trained by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) including an intensive two-day National Oncology Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course in the most up-to-date chemotherapy and biotherapy administration procedures, types of chemotherapy, as well symptom and pain management. Our team is prepared to offer the personalized and compassionate care you need.

We commit to providing high-quality care and personal attention to anticipate and meet your individual needs. For that reason, our approach is not one-sided. We pool our resources from several areas to have a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Along with doctors and nurses, the team approach also includes dietitians, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and a chaplain to help ensure that our patients and their families are as comfortable as possible. This team approach to your treatment helps provide strength while you and your family cope through your cancer journey.
